Media Training

Most professionals have experience speaking in public or before an assembled group of clients. But a totally different skill set is required for media interviews and on-camera appearances.

Successful media interviews require identifying your message, condensing your answers into memorable sound bites, and promoting your product and services that engages and appeals to the audience. Eloqui trains our clients to personalize the camera lens so they appear genuine and conversational. We show them where to look, how to maintain focus and become conversant with all the technical aspects of studio production.

As field-trained professionals from TV and film, we prepare clients to appear confident on camera, either solo or in a media interview. We share the techniques for how to be physically expressive, given the confines of camera framing. And we advise clients on their wardrobe selection to create the desired effect.

Rehearsals are imperative for successful on-camera appearances, so we role-play interview situations, which are digitally recorded. The sessions include how to absorb and redirect hostile questions, abbreviate responses so they are “quotable” (without sacrificing content), and how to stay on course, and not let the interviewer re-direct the interview.

When called for, we also set up a mock studio environment with teleprompter and operator so clients become proficient with these specialized devices.

The result is that our clients answer media questions with authority, deliver memorable statements, and most importantly, achieve their objective, regardless of format or time constraints.
